For motorcycle fans in the North and North West the first weekend in January can only mean one thing - the National Motorcycle Show at

G-MEX (Manchester Central) 4th 5th & 6th Jan, 2008.

An action packed high-octane start to the New Year with everything you would expect and more from the greatest regional bike show. Heart-stopping stunt displays, the dynamic Indoor Freestyle Arena, a proverbial jungle of dealer and trade stands, as well as dealer approved used bikes and a classic bike and scooter display to bring back memories.

New for 2008

Teenager's Road Safety Forum - With celebrities and riders competing in a 'slow riding' competition along with members of the public.

The ultimate freestyle street bike rider Ashley Mark will be making his debut at Manchester with his mind-blowing array of 'on the edge' freestyle riding.

We also see the return of the Xtreme indoor trials display team. Featuring some of the best riders in the world with their new 2008 heart stopping, action packed show. Be ready to be amazed but don't try this at home.

Exciting features for 2008

Adrenaline Fix
By popular demand Russ Swift, the world's greatest stunt driver, returns to Manchester to show us all his array of breath-taking stunts on two and four wheels.

Plus, many new-for-2008 bikes will be on display with BMW, Honda, Triumph, Ducati, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Aprilia all at the Show.

Touring and Leisure Area
After last year's success, we have the popular Touring and Leisure area which will provide an opportunity for those eager bikers wanting to plan ride out’s and biking adventures for the coming year.

Custom and Extreme Performance Corner
Another high impact feature is in the form of a Custom and Extreme Performance Corner. Displaying all that is weird and wonderful in the world of modified motorcycles, from mildly tweaked production bikes to bespoke machines that are engineered in every way imaginable.

Artimagination Ltd - Airbrushing Specialist
Will be giving demonstrations on airbrushing a bike live at the show over the weekend.

Much more to follow - watch this space

Autosport International (ASI), the world's largest motorsport exhibition, looks set to break all its records in January after tickets got off to a flying start.

Increased public interest in the event’s 18th show is predicted thanks to the “Lewis Hamilton” effect after his astonishing debut Formula 1 season with McLaren. More than 90,000 visitors are now expected at The NEC across the two-day ASI spectacle, to which Hamilton has been a regular visitor in the past.

The show, which marks the start of the new season for most fans, sees teams, drivers, manufacturers and championships host stands, make announcements and meet the fans at the prestigious event.

Visitors and motorsport enthusiasts will again be able to get up close to their favourite F1 car on the F1 Racing feature, and a number of new features to be announced in the next two weeks.

In addition, the Live Action Arena gives visitors the chance to get right next to the action as race-prepared cars rev-up and let loose in the custom-built showground.

Another big crowd-draw will be the first-ever Pistonheads Performance Car Show, which will run parallel to ASI. More than 25,000 sports car fans are expected to attend for features including a concept car gallery, supercar paddock, track day cars, performance tuned cars and car market.

The Pistonheads Show is an extension of the web magazine Pistonheads.com, which is one of the world’s biggest online communities in the automotive sector with 1.1million unique users.
